With 443 million daily active users, a platform like Snapchat has to keep things spicy.

And what better way to do that than by harnessing the power of the latest technological innovations to let users have their #ravebaby moment or wear a Canadian tuxedo in space?

In the first six months of 2024, here’s how the lenses created as part of our organic partnership with Snap have performed:

The innovative capability and playful creativity of organic partners like DEPT® contribute to everything that sets Snap apart: Encouraging users to have fun together, live in the moment, and express themselves freely.

Setting standards for Snap’s latest era

One of the many opportunities that comes from our organic partnership with Snap is access to its latest technology, which allows us to create many lenses and experiences that are the first of their kind.

Being able to collaborate with Snap on the application of tech like this is the stuff of dreams. Noodling around on the art direction, design, and development for different ideas doesn’t just help Snap optimize these technologies for the best outcomes—it’s equal parts exciting and fun.

Along the way, we’ve learned a thing or two about how to combine best-in-class technologies, trending mechanics, and cultural trends into an experience that anyone and everyone can participate in.

Takeaway #1
Simple, sleek, and effortless experiences are king.

Takeaway #2
It’s not just about cat ears. Enhancing natural features boosts engagement rates.

Takeaway #3
There’s WAY more potential for creativity and self-expression in video formats than in static ones.

Proof is in the pudding

The 2024 Snap Partner Summit covered the company’s latest and greatest innovations: Everything from Snap’s 5th generation of Spectacles—the latest addition to the wearable tech market—to the wackiest and wildest AI and AR lenses the platform’s ever seen.

And, of course, there was this ~casual~ little mention on the big screen from co-founders Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy.

Paving the way for innovation

This epic shoutout had us inwardly screaming with joy: It caps off the most incredible six months we’ve had in our nearly three-year organic partnership with Snap, producing what’s far and away our most advanced Snap AR work to date for the platform.

As Snap and DEPT® continue paving the way for innovation in AR, we’re eager to apply our expertise beyond the camera as Snap steps into a brand-new era. The possibilities across new modes of experience like Snap’s Spectacles, My AI, or AR mirrors are practically limitless—and we can’t wait to explore them.
