Global digital agency DEPT® announces the promotion of Joanna Trippett to EVP of EMEA, tasked with driving the growth of its marketing and technology services in the region. This strategic move underscores DEPT®’s unwavering commitment to the region, which already contributes 51% of its global revenue.

Joanna will oversee a team of 2,000+ specialists, delivering impactful, disruptive work for global and local heroes, and fostering the integration of marketing and technology services. This approach aims to break down barriers, boost collaboration, and help pioneer tech/marketing
to help brands like eBay, Footlocker, Lotus, smart, Logitech, and Google to stay ahead.

In the new role, Trippett will lead the broader EMEA leadership team, which includes Simon Walsh (Experience & Engineering), Willem Blom (Creative & Media), Marjan Smit (People), Julie Luu (Finance), and Tim van Vliet (Operations). Reporting to global CEO, Dimi Albers, Joanna is taking charge of firepowering the vision and performance of DEPT® across technology and marketing services in the region.

Joanna joined DEPT® 10 years ago, growing alongside the business – from a team of 150 to 4000+ globally. Most recently, she led the DEPT® UK team to grow the business consistently, despite harsh economic pressures. In 2023, the UK welcomed 30 new clients, expanded relationships with eBay and Just Eat Takeaway, and finished the year with revenue growing by 17%. Joanna was also instrumental in bringing together a team of 500+ specialists across Experience, Engineering, Creative, and Growth Marketing when the agency unified all its local teams under a single brand in March 2023.

We are creating a new blueprint for what a modern agency and consultative model looks like – by changing perceptions of what businesses can expect from a partner, and supporting our clients through the AI transformation. We are agile, ambitious, opinionated, and independent – that applies to our internal culture, client engagements, and advantage alongside our competitors. I’m proud to be part of the team taking the company to its next stage of maturity and I am grateful to the team and leaders – present and past – for the opportunity”, says Trippett.

Anyone who has met or come across Joanna knows any business would be lucky to have her at the helm. Over the years we’ve seen her grow into the leader she is today – she embodies our commitment to innovation, passion to raise expectations, and drive to deliver pioneering work that helps our clients stay ahead. She relentlessly fosters our culture of disruption and we can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make in this role,” says Dimi Albers, Global CEO, of DEPT®.

New leadership for DEPT UK & Ireland

With Trippett’s elevation, the UK and Ireland will be driven by pre-existing management and elevated into client-centric roles to reflect the organisational shift.  Ali McClintock (Growth & Head of UKI) will lead the market alongside Elizabeth Powell, Adam Jewson, Stephen Murphy, Jeff Bowerman and Mark Wright. Collectively, they will be responsible for business performance for local clients such as Nikon, eBay, easyJet, and Trainline.

In 2024 DEPT® was recognised as Campaign US’ Digital Innovation Agency of the Year for the second consecutive year, Digiday’s inaugural EMEA Agency of the Year, as well as Webby’s 2023  Network of the Year for the third consecutive year.
