DEPT® and bol create back-to-school campaign to help students, scholars and parents
What time does class start again? What classroom do you need to be in? Do you have all your school supplies with you? After summer vacation, it’s always a struggle to get back into the rhythm of the school year, especially if you just finished a vacation.
As the school and study year is about to start again, bol, in collaboration with DEPT®, is launching a new back-to-school campaign to help the Netherlands and Flanders get off to a smooth start.
Campaign film
What time is school pick up? In the campaign film, we see a father who, on the first school day of the year, is not quite getting into the rhythm himself. He thinks he’s going to be late to pick up his infant son and imagines the worst-case scenario as a concerned parent.
Well-known teacher
Playing a supporting role in the video is Teacher Sanne, who has a large social following and is known for her funny content on TikTok and Instagram. She has also developed her own content for the campaign.
Refresher course video series not to forget anything
A refresher course video series was developed for students. This one hooks into the feeling of forgetting how the simplest things work – like opening a laptop, using your calendar or packing a school bag – with a big wink. In three simple steps, the viewer is always helped with an extremely simple task.
As an additional tool, bol is also launching the student checklist. With this, students see everything they need for the upcoming academic year in one convenient overview.
Win the intro
Bol is present at several student intro weeks to help students get started there as well. Student parties are held in a specially designed student house, where the entire contents can be won. Large JBL speakers, a Playstation, a stocked fridge, and even a washing machine are up for grabs.
Rollout
The campaign is live starting this week on TV, radio, online video, (D)OOH, digital advertising, social media and with influencers. On-site sponsorship will take place during the student introductory weeks in seven cities across the country: Leiden, Amsterdam, Maastricht, Delft, Rotterdam, Groningen and Utrecht. The student house parties are August 15 in Leiden, August 22 in Maastricht and August 30 in Amsterdam.
